The Pine Marten and The Moon depicts a Pine marten resting on a tree branch, its sleek form illuminated by the soft glow of the moon. This piece was inspired by the Pine marten’s elusive nature and its graceful movements through the forest canopy. The acrylic wash creates a serene, moonlit atmosphere, while intricate penwork brings the animal and its surroundings to life. The painting invites viewers to feel the quiet magic of the woodland night and the rare beauty of this secretive creature.

We currently do not have a population of Pine martens living in Yorkshire, but here's hoping in the future, with the aide of conservation agencies, they return.
